Photographer Of The Year 2019

Photographer Of The Year 2019!!!

Eeeeek how amazing is that?

Well that is the award I won on the 1st February in the People Genre at The Guild awards at Crewe Hall. Along with a massive Overall Photographer Of The Year and Image Of The Year runner-up!

I am over the moon to say the least. I am having a year off entering competitions to concentrate on my clients, so it was such a nice way to end the year and go out with a huge bang.

Not only did I win my Trophies which I cannot wait to add them to my collection. I won an awesome top of the range printer from Epson So thank you Epson for your amazing prize.

Press release

International Recognition for Local Nottingham Photographer Sarah Wilkes has again gained international recognition by winning a significant award with the Guild of (Professional) Photographers.

The Guild is the highly regarded national photographic body whose members are dedicated to enhancing their skills in the art, craft and profession of photography.

It runs an Image of the Month Competition, and received around 13,000 entries during 2018, from photographers in the UK and overseas!

Each image is scored, and the scores from the year are then totalled to determine who wins one of the Guild’s Top 10 Photographer awards / becomes the Guild’s Photographer of the Year.

This is clearly a very demanding year long process!

Sarah was honoured to become Photographer of the Year in the People genre, runner-up with one of her images for the Classical Portraiture genre and overall Photographer of the year 2019!

A remarkable achievement when one considers the number and standard of the entries.

Their Award was presented to them at the Guild’s Awards night at Crewe Hall (a stunning Jacobean mansion in Cheshire), earlier this week.

Lesley Thirsk (Director of the Guild) said – she is

“Both proud and delighted that Sarah has achieved this recognition after 12 months of submitting the highest quality images. The Guild has very demanding standards when judging photographic competitions. The judging is undertaken by a panel of internationally recognised experts from a variety of photographic backgrounds, so Sarah quite rightly should be delighted with their extraordinary achievement’ Members of the Guild are committed to achieving the highest standards of professionalism and to a journey of continuing professional development.”
